This bridge is the northern of the Twin Culverts. It was built in approximately 1870 and bypassed in 1889 during a line relocation through the area.
The Southern Culvert was built in 1889 to bypass this bridge. Together, these two bridges are highly significant pieces of infrastructure in the area.
The northern culvert is a basic stone arch bridge built of rubble stone and no interior lining. Some pieces of the bridge have been replaced by concrete.
